I’m pleased to introduce a new and important initiative that reflects both our long-term vision and our immediate commitment to the next generation: the launch of the Young Movers Committee — an official part of FEDEMAC’s business plan.

Why this matters

The future of our profession belongs to those who are just entering it. Their perspectives, ideas, and energy are essential to shaping a modern and forward-looking moving industry. Through this new Committee, we aim to give young movers across Europe a platform — to speak up, share insights, and contribute directly to our shared future.

The Committee will be made up of 5 young professionals, each representing a different national association or, in the case of Commercial Members and Direct Affiliates, their respective companies. With different backgrounds and experiences, they will bring a diversity of thought that will strengthen FEDEMAC’s work.

From dialogue to action

Committee members will meet three to four times per year online, with a dedicated in-person session during FEDEMAC Week, where they will also attend our General Assembly. But we want to go further. Together with the Committee, we will refresh and redesign the Young Movers Conference (YMC) — introducing speakers and themes that reflect the values and interests of a new generation. Topics chosen by young movers, for young movers.

Because their role is not just to take part — It’s to lead.

Join us in shaping the future

We want the Committee to be active by this autumn. To make this happen, I ask for your support.

  • Promote this initiative within your associations, companies, and networks.
  • Identify and encourage young talents ready to step forward.
  • If you’re a young mover yourself, get in touch with your National Association, or, if applicable, your Direct Affiliate or Commercial Member representative.

Or contact me directly with your motivation to join or any questions at: [email protected]

Let’s give space to the voices that will carry our profession into the future.

Let’s make sure they are heard — and empowered.

Yours Sincerely,

Bertil Durieux,

President
